Problem Statement:

There are many development projects approved by the government forcefully evicted indigenous people, urban settlers, farmers and fishermen, to address this problem, the EIA must be holistically reformed and adopt a human rights impact assessment system.

Value(s) and Belief(s):

Everyone has his / her right to housing which is in relation to his / her right to food, work and cultures.

Proposal of Solution:

To ensure public, private and government-linked corporations adhere to human rights standards and employ human rights impact assessment prior to approving any development projects of all scales, especially those on the mega spectrum.

Isu dan Polisi Semasa:

Terlalu banyak projek pembangunan yang diluluskan oleh kerajaan telah mengusir orang asli, peneroka bandar, petani, nelayan secara paksaan. Bagi menyelesaikan masalah ini, sistem penilaian impak alam sekitar mestilah diperbaharui secara keseluruhan dan mengguna pakai sistem penilaian yang berasaskan hak asasi manusia.

Nilai-nilai dan Kepercayaan:

Setiap individu mempunyai hak atas perumahan kerana ini berhubung kait dengan haknya untuk mendapatkan makanan, pekerjaan dan budaya.

Penyelesaian:

Memastikan pihak awam, swasta dan syarikat berkaitan kerajaan (GLC) untuk mematuhi piawaian hak asasi manusia, menggunakan sistem penilaian impak hak asasi manusia bagi tujuan kelulusan sebarang projek pembangunan pada semua skala, terutamanya yang berskala besar.
